Ein weißes Standbild, steingehauen,
nur leicht im Kolbenrohr versteckt,
zwingt trotz der Ferne hinzuschauen.
Des Wandrers Neugier ist geweckt.
Die Halme schaukeln, Zweige nicken,
der Blickfang rührt sich aber nicht.
Er scheint ins Nichts der Luft zu blicken,
der Umriss schärft sich jetzt im Licht.
Da stößt ein Schnabel ins Gerinne,
ein Pfeil durchbohrt ein Flossentier.
Der Silberreiher hält kurz inne,
dann streicht er ab, sein Bild bleibt hier.
